Got my MagVolt last week and was really happy with it at first. Very comfortable easy to use. Then the elastic band started coming out of the magnet end and now it won’t stay together at all. Very disappointing and an obvious design issue.  Everything else from Stealth has been well built and durable but this thing quite frankly is junk.

    Sneaky Pete,

This is a very simple fix, my man.

Use 2-part household epoxy glue, which is available at any convenience store, to permanently bond the tube to the nipple. Use a very small amount on the tip of the nipple otherwise, after you slide the tube into place the excess will drip and need to be cleaned up.

You could use super glue but the brittle nature of the crystalline structure is not ideal with the flexible silicone tube. I have tested “gorilla brand” which is nice because it is thicker and slower to dry, but epoxy is ideal. We would do this for you at the factory but then it would not be possible to remove the tube for shortening which is an important option to have.

Actually, the super glue might be a way for us to temporarily secure the tube in place which would allow for removal of the tube without destroying the nipple. If removing the tube to cut shorter is required, the 2-part epoxy can be used for a permanent bond.

I will test this and see if it is suitable as a temporary bond which can be removed by force without causing damage.

    Update:

I have been testing various glues overnight and found a specialized Silicone glue that works perfectly. The material remains flexible yet demands a proper effort to break the bond. Once broken the glue scrapes off without causing any damage to the tube or nipple.

At the moment, I just applied some regular RTV silicone, from the corner hardware store, which I anticipate to be well suited for application by the end user if needed for making a size adjustment. I will wait 24 hours before testing the strength of the bond to be sure.

With respect to the design, we had considered a wire spring clip to secure the tube over the nipple but decided against this as it is too tedious for the user to take off and on without needle nose pliers. A larger more convenient sized clip and the pubic hairs would get entangled with the thin gauge wire.

We decided on the simple silicone ring with its clean lines to maintain the design integrity. I personally have not had the tube detach by itself while wearing the device but we are getting enough reports of this happening to make the necessary adjustment.

I have attached a couple of pics to show the clean finish of the white silicone glue with some red RTV silicone for contrast to demonstrate the precision tolerances of the design and subsequent glue application.

Moving forward, we will be applying the white silicone glue before shipping the product.

We are now using a clear silicone glue for bonding the tube and nipple. I would share a picture but there is actually nothing to see as it is completely transparent. We have sold out on the initial pre-launch offer so all the backorders waiting to be sent out will be securely glued in place. We will have a resize kit available with a 12″ length of silicone tube, a set of silicone O-rings and a small vial of the silicone glue with dip stick for application.

    Stealth Man,

When do you think the resize kits will be available?

    Thanks.

    Gherron,

We just put the kit together today after receiving the 1ml vials for the glue. The kit includes a 14″ length of silicone tube tapered 1″ at either end to receive the metal beads along with the two silicone O-rings, the silicone glue and a 2mm thick circular 3M silicone disk that is now included with the Mag-Volt. Without the silicone disc to act as a cushion, the highly powered magnets can chip if they are not dampened properly to minimize the impact at an odd angle.

I must have been too modest in my measuring because my mag volt is simply too small. Every time I try to put it on the tube launches off the nipples.  Any tips?

    Hey Christian,

I suppose you could dip your package in cold water before putting the Mag Volt on 😛

In all seriousness, though, I’ve been having the same problem, even though I know I got the right size. I’d suggest getting a resize kit sent when they’re available, and making sure that it’s sized correctly, and then gluing the nipples in place. I’m hoping that SM will send one out to those who have been having issues with this. I can’t wear mine, now, due to the problem. I do wonder if there’s a fatigue issue cropping up in the tubing, or perhaps the retaining ring itself. I’m sure some of us are putting a fair bit of strain on those tiny parts.

    Happy stealthing, guys 🙂

Yep, I’m hoping the resize kit fixes my problem.  I trimmed mine because when I was relaxed and loose, it kept falling off.  I got it cut down to a point where it doesn’t fall off as easily, but when things get a little…”interesting”, the tube pops off.

This may be a problem for ‘growers’, so I hope I can get the correct fit and then secure it with the glue so it doesn’t come apart during the taut times.

    Gherron,

I hear you, as I’m kind of a ‘grower’ too. with any luck your thought will do the job without causing undue wear and tear on the tubing or the tiny retaining rings. I suppose one option would be to have a mag volt for each ooccasion, but I somehow doubt that that is the intended goal of the mag volt as it is. But, all this said, I’m sure we’ll all come up with something that works.

Just a thought, SM, is there perhaps a slightly more elastic tubing that can be used? I’m sure it probably wouldn’t provide as much compression as the current tubing, but it might reduce the pull-off problem.

    Have fun guys 🙂

Although it has never happened to me, the tube disconnecting from the nipple seems to be a rather common problem. We now have the specialized silicone glue for the production Mag-Volts which also is available with the resize kit, so if you need to make the Mag-Volt a bigger size to fit, we have the kit for $10 which includes the 12″ length of silicone tube + two silicone O-rings, vial of glue and 2mm silicone disc for attaching to one of the clasping magnets to act as a damper to minimize the shock of the high powered magnets. However, if you need to simply need to bond the silicone tube to the nipple you can use simple household silicone adhesive for a decent bond as well.

I found an easy solution to make them larger. Just get a round piece of metal and put between the magnets. I used a 3/16 socket out of my tool box. You can easily choose the length you need. The magnets are so strong they grip it well.

    Thats a great idea Rod!

I just tested the voltage on the silver Mag-Volt with a similar set-up and got the same reading of .85 volts with and without the socket in between the clasping magnets!

Perfection has arrived with the silicone glue Stealth Man recommended.
The nipple does not release from the silver or copper capped ends…. and I cut the new tubing to a wee bit larger than originally ordered.

The fit is still pleasingly snug and even the silicone o-ring is holding well.

MagVolt is a fascinating and subtle feeling-maker. Thank you, Stealth!

thanks for the positive feedback on the silicone glue!

Yes, it not likely that the bond will be broken without the use of brute force.
